Application of Laser® 4000 PT Pre-Treatment Chemical:-

It can be applied manually using a handheld sprayer or mechanically though an automatic pre-treatment unit. Now a days many DTG Printers are using automated spraying machines, which provides consistency and repeatability in pre-treatment application, although manual application using a handheld sprayer is also effective. Instructions for manual application are outlined below. For automatic pre-treatment machines, consult the vendor’s usage Instructions for safety and proper use.

For both manual & automatic application method, the quantity could be required approx. 0.0016 to 0.020 grams/ square centimeter.

Some machines have special setting of volume to be used, for that purpose it is recommended to follow manufacture’s instructions to determine the correct amount of pre-treatment chemical requirement.

Drying after Pre-Treatment application:-

It is basically required to remove excess moisture & stability of fabric.
Achieving an ideal condition for drying minimizes time, temperature, and pressure to maintain print quality. Avoid over-drying, as it can reduce wash fastness.
It can be dried using either a heat press or a heat tunnel after application. For the best result, use thin, disposable parchment paper, non-stick papers, or non-stick polymer sheets. These materials offer uniform drying and better volatile evaporation. They should be used once per garment and then discarded. If not available, alternative non-stick paper can be used.

Drying method for Belt conveyor Heat Press:-

After placing garment, spread with squeegee to achieve even coverage.
Dry the pre-treated garment with the heat press, using parchment paper or non-stick polymer sheet as a barrier, for 15-40 seconds at 165oC at 70-130 psi.

Drying method for Belt conveyor Heat Tunnel:-

Dry the pre-treated garment in the heat tunnel for about 30-40 seconds at 165oC . The shirt should still be slightly damp as it exits the heating box.
Immediately press the shirt in a heat press for 10 seconds at 165oC at 70-130 psi. This step is essential to control printing defects due to fibrillation.
Note that the efficiency of heat tunnels can vary between manufactures, so it may be necessary to find the optimum curing heat and speed.

Printing Method:-

For the best quality print, follow the printer manufacture’s best practices for setting up the printer based on printhead, color management, and ink delivery methods.
Customers should also conduct their own tests on their shirts to determine the best procedure for achieving their specific desired results. If acceptable results are not achieved, contact the printer manufacturer or distributor technical support staff.

Laser® 4000 PT pre-treatment Chemical is designed to enable the speedup printing process by improving ink drying rates during printing, allowing for better output.
